It's About Time

I've found the key to success in business is to understand and learn from the client journey.

My three-second pitch is "I get you on TV". When I started McEwen Media, I was quick to deliver on that promise. I knew I could write pitches quickly and send them to my media contacts. I also knew when they were booked, I could run them through rehearsals until they were TV ready.

I was a bulldozer paving the way for clients to realize what was once a far-off dream. And it was as destructive as it sounds.

Working with me is an investment of time and money, this is true. The biggest obstacle for people is the investment in their self-image.

I can see potential, but unless they see it in themselves there will always be self-sabotage and limits to where their story can go.

Force will only get you so far. Belief can move mountains.

In the years since I started launching group media programs, I have always looked for ways to improve the process. Learning how to pitch media is still part of the process. Learning how to believe in your potential is the main focus.

I explore this in my conversation with Natalie Haynes, a recent graduate of my media training program. Since the program ended Natalie has appeared on TV, radio, and is talking to a publisher about writing a book. It's an incredible journey that started two years ago when she shyly asked if her content had mass appeal.

Building the belief in herself as the messenger is key to Natalie's success and momentum. And it's a beautiful reassurance that the current media training framework, with its emphasis on building your self-image as the messenger, is the right execution at the right time.
