Truth and Authenticity

There’s something professional creators know that our clients often struggle to understand: effective communication is often flawed. Especially if we’re connecting in video form.

Conversational writing is not the same a writing a blog, or book, or letter. The sentences are shorter; often fragmented. Intuitively we use smaller, everyday words.

All of this goes out the window when you’re met with someone who is responsible for the “corporate” message. The corporate message is controlled, often wordy. They’re meant to keep those within the business aligned with the message. But they are not written for public consumption.

And if you ask my friend and photographer Tony Lombardo, this corporate messaging gets in the way of your true, authentic message.

On-camera confidence is a muscle you can work and a skill you can learn. If you struggle with communicating on-screen, check out my media training options and find the commitment level that's right for you.
